Sedation DentistryThe most common type of anesthesia we treat our patients with is local anesthesia. It works by blocking the nerves to a specific area. We typically use a topical anesthesia to numb the area prior to injecting the local anesthesia. We typically use this on patients that need cavities.

Some patients will require more anesthesia. In this case, we can offer them sedatives. There are several types. Some come in pill form and need to be taken prior to your visit. We also have gas sedation which can be inhaled. If needed, we have the ability to give you a sedative intravenously.

There may be times when a patient requires more anesthesia for a specific procedure, whether this is because they are anxious or the procedure may be more painful. For this reason, we are always happy to discuss your options prior to any procedures that you may have done.

Regardless of which sedation method you require, we are always happy to assist you. We will do everything possible to make your visit go smoothly. We want you to have an enjoyable and comfortable visit where you are happy with the outcome.
